Angry [SOLVED] setup_sin_gold_2.0.0.9.exe --> false positive

    Hey guys!

I'm not sure if anyone else has been having this problem, but I've just bought Sin Gold off of gog.com , a reputable gaming website, and I can't install it. Whenever I try, the installer detects Packed.Win32.PePatch.dk and deletes Sin.exe. Scanning the installer itself also causes this reaction. Not sure what's going on, but right now, I can't play the game until this is resolved.

Sorry all users here no ZA support.

Please see here below how to report false positives:
How to diagnose and/or report antivirus/antispyware false positives
You have to report to Kaspersky, that will review it and, if applicable, fix it. No report, not fix.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the tip. However, the file exceeds the size limit both of the diagnose site and emailing. What other reporting options have I?

Btw, if your file is larger than 15MB then there is something wrong in the ZA antivirus settings as these files should not be detected. No virus exist that is so stupid to attach to such a large file . So, check your settings or reset the ZA settings as something does not work correctly there!

OK, thanks for the tip. I just seset the ZA settings and plan to restart after I'm done transferring the file in question to a file locker for Kaspersky to look at. BTW, whenever I try to install the game (which again, I bought from a reputable site) and the disinfection happens, I get this in my quarantine: Packed.Win32.PePatch.dk . Not sure if that means anything to you guys, but I thought I'd throw it in there.

Well, I sent the installer to Kaspersky and they confirmed it's a false positive. Now all that's left is to wait for it to be updated here in ZA...

As soon as kaspersky will fix it will be fixed in ZA. If the file is not larger than 64MB you can also check at virustotal.com.

I will revise the title of the thread to hint to the solution and closing it. Please PM me in case you need to reopen it.
