Default The ENTIRE log list is empty?

    hi everybody!
    how is people today?

i have a bit of a quandary here.
i just checked the za logs again today, several days after i checked them the last time, and the ENTIRE log list is empty, just like the last time, even though i have been on the internet and have went to several websites.

not even a microsoft related entry can be found in the log, and i know it is common for updates to ask the firewall, or os operations etc to make log entries, but there are absolutely NONE. i have za installed on another computer so i know that the free version does show logs.

    thank you,

    Your Database could be corrupt.

Open ZoneAlarm GUI.Under Tools > Preferences > Backup and Restore Settings click Reset to Defaults and reboot your computer. You might need to reboot a second time to repopulate complete programs list.Do not Restore old settings. You could re-introduce issue.

hi Sky Soldiers, how is you today?
    nice to see you!

    1. so if it was corrupted, could it show 50 logs one day, and then only 1 log the next day?

    2. or would corrupted mean that it showed NO logs at all for several days?

is this the same issue, or could these be caused by two different things?
list of potential issues [security breach, data corruption, # of days to archive logs]
*note: the issue might not be on this list

To be more clear, are you still using Zone Alarm Free, or ar you trying one of the Paid versions?

Also, Check "Alerts and Logs" section, under Antivirus section, to make sure none of the Log options are turned OFF..

    Yes.

Tools > Logs > Log Control > Log Archive Frequency

Log archive frequency default is 7 days. You can also choose the number of days from the drop down menu.

After that day it will archive the ZALog to the Log Archive Location and start logging new entries till it archives again.

You can click the " Browse " tab on the right to view old Archives.

This is my last archive log set at 4 days : ZALog2014.03.13.txt
