    Do you need to use resources (printer, files, etc.) attacked to your network (router)? If yes, then you need to add the IP to the ZA trusted zone. If not, do not add them.
    Shouldn't be too difficult...

    Hi;

    I agree with Guru Fax,

    also, many people have more than one Computer connected to their Home Network (router) and need to access/share printers, files etc..

    PS: at one time I have had 5 computers on my Home Network, [ don't ask me why :-) ] and I did not want to buy 5 printers and other shared devices for each computer.

    hi fax, thanks for the reply,

    okay, that’s what i thought.
    that was one of the questions that i wanted to ask, but didn’t have the chance to ask yet, but you answered before i even got a chance to ask it.

    :: enter the ip address

    thank you.

    GeorgeV howdy. yo dude, what’s up bro? good to see you.

    “5 computers on my Network”
    wow!!!!

    no, what i meant, was BESIDES the printer. i knew that you had to lower the security level to use the printer (i think, unless you enter the IP?). what i meant was, which i was referring to: what possible “files” would i need to share (i’m not talking about the printer) [is this only for business use or something???]
    that’s what doesn’t make sense...

    thank you,
    sincerely,

    There is an easier way. If you don't know why you would want to share files then you don't need it. As simple as that. Don't need to look for an answer to a question that is simply not relevant.

    You don't lower your security level at all, you just allow yourself to use the printer. Otherwise with your approach you should keep the PC turned OFF to be fully secure

    Since you seem to be concerned with the best way to Guarantee the Security of your Files and Computer.

    I agree with Guru Fax..

    1.) The closest that you can come to 100% protection of all the files on your computer..
    is to shut the computer off and unplug it from the Internet connection.. LOL :-)

    2.) this is assuming that you don't have a family member or roommate re-connect and turn the Computer back on?

    Have a good day..
