    Default [SOLVED] Upgrading to 130_208_000 - hanging on .NET installation.

    Greetings,
    I'm having problems when the update gets to the Microsoft .NET installation: the computer just sits for hours, all System Idle Process/no activity. Have to force a shut down and do a System Restore to get anything working.

    After the restore, ZA monitor says computer is a risk, when trying the 'fix' button, I get Update of anti-virus/anti-spywhere: finished, but anti-virus/anti-spywhere update: error

    Should I install .NET myself, or...? Any suggestions welcomed.

    Windows XP/Home, Service Pack 3, planning on upgrading to Win8

    Clean uninstall ZAES.On XP System Restore breaks ZoneAlarm.

    Then install 13.0.208.000.

    Download from here:

    Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or later: Required to run ZoneAlarm.
    If the required .NET Framework version is not already installed, the ZoneAlarm installation program automatically installs .NET on your computer.

    Note: Would suggest when doing Systen Restore.Do it in Safe Mode.You will still need to Clean uninstall & re-install ZoneAlarm.

    Hello;

    You may need to do a Clean Uninstall of your old ZAES..

    Try this safe clean up procedure..

    Follow these instructions Below to clean your computer of the old version and any conflicting 3rd party Security programs, then install a clean new copy of the current supported version of ZA 13.0.208.000




    The instruction for a clean install are below




    1. Download the latest ZA 13 (2015) version http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...10&action=view

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Now Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings,
    and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.


    Let us know how you have managed to resolve the issue. It will help other users with the same problem.

    Thank you, gentlemen, a clean install did the trick, sorry I didn't think of that myself. I followed GeorgeV's instructions, and although I did have an issue on the reboot - I think I have a corrupt user account or registry - I got everything installed and running. Again, thanks for your time, advice and expertise. m.

    Just make sure that you install ZoneAlarm in C:\ drive, The same partition as the Windows OS and in an Administrator Account only.
