    Default ZA Free Firewall 13.1.211.000 notice after installation

    Hi All:

    After installing the latest version of ZA Free Firewall 13.1.211.000, the following message appeared several times:

    "Host Process for Windows was prevented from changing ZoneAlarm Firewall by modifying the registry key HKCS/SERVICES/USDATANT."

    A search of the registry shows that this key does not exist.

    This happened on both my laptop (Win 8 Home Premium 64-bit) and my backup unit (Win 7 Pro 32-bit). Is this anything to worry about?

    Cheers,
    Mike T.

    Default Does latest free download fix error message?

    https://www.zonealarm.com/forums/showthread.php/80686
    regarding this error message after updating to v. 13.1.211.000
    I noticed on the downloads page
    http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/trial-download-zaav.htm it downloads version zaAvSetupWeb_132_015_000
    Does this fix the issue of the constant error message?

    If not, can I install v. zaAvSetupWeb_120_104_000 over 13.1.211.000? As these error popups are getting annoying.

    Hello;

    Support and Forum Guru's do not have any ETA when a fix will be available.

    When it is fixed a new version will be posted and the description of the fix will be included in the Release History of the new version.
    Yes, you can go back to the Very old ver. 12, if you still have a copy of v12.. provided that you do a Complete Clean Uninstall of v13 first then run "Clean.exe" and Reboot your computer first, before attempting to install ZA v12..

    However, we can not recommend Downgrading to V12.0.104.000 or provide a link to older unsupported ZA Versions.

    as it will provides sub-optimal protection as the virus, Hacker/Trojan threat in the last year or two has expanded and Evolved creating a need for changes in the Firewall and other security features..

    PS:
    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.
