    Default [Solved] Anti keylogger causing keystroke issues > Turn OFF keyLogger

    I just installed the latest version of Zone Alarm, Vers 13.0.208.000. Immediately before the installation of the latest ZA, I had been using my preferred browser, Goggle Chrome, and never had any problems (using the older version of ZA). Now when I type into a Goggle Chrome application like Goggle Calendar, the typing comes out gibberish. I get the same gibberish when I type into my email from the Goggle Chrome browser. I can copy and paste into these applications just fine. The strange part is, when I open my Goggle Calendar application from the Internet Explorer Browser my typing comes out just fine. Also the case when I type into my Goggle Mail application from Internet Explorer Vers 11. I installed the latest version of Goggle Chrome to see if that fixed the problem and it has not. Has anybody else had this problem with the new Zone Alarm Vers 13.0.08.000 and the Goggle Chrome browser? If so, have you found a fix?

    Right click the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> copy to clipboard --> paste it here. Remove license key if applicable.

    Also explain if you installed the new version over the old. What other security tools are installed? What OS are you using? Have you tried to reboot the PC?

    More info you post more likely users reading your post will understand the problem.

    I just updated over version 12.0.104.00 and now have the same keyboard problem with my licensed software update.
    Both Chrome and Firefox have the keyboard issues.
    Internet Explorer is OK.
    Tried reboot - same issue!
    To fix, I turned off the feature:Anti-Keylogger [in the tab: WEB & PRIVACY]
    Hope you can make a permanent fix GURU!!!

    You have probably some conflicts with the add-ons installed in Firefox or Chrome.

    Run Firefox in SAFE MODE:

    and see if you have the same problem.

    Run Chrome in incognito mode:
    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en

    BTW, Chrome is at version 34.xxx... best to update before doing tests. A clean install may be better (remove chrome, install fresh).

    Are you running other security tools? They may clash with the ZA protection.

    I installed the following ZA version over a licensed ZA Vers 12.0.104.000.


    ZoneAlarm Extreme Security version: 13.0.208.000
    ZoneAlarm license key: xxxxxxxxx
    Vsmon version: 13.0.208.0
    Driver version: 13.0.70.0
    Antivirus engine version: 8.3.3.9
    Antivirus signature DAT file version: 1149853760
    AntiSpam version: 6.3.1.4973

    I am using Windows 7. I am using updated Chrome Vers 34.0.1847.116. I have turned off and on the computer several times.

    What has temporarily solved the problem is turning off the Anti Keylogger in Zone Alarm as Ekin has suggested. That returns the typing to normal. What also works is running Chrome in Incognito. That also returns the typing to normal. Also disabling ZA returns the typing to normal in Chrome. Internet Explorer has no keyboard issues with ZA running. My conclusion is that there is some sort of problem with the new updated Anti-Keylogger in the new version of Zone Alarm. I am leaving this feature disabled till ZA comes up with a fix.

    Good! We have some progress... now you need to find which add-on does not like ZA. Disable one-by-one the add-ons and check which one is the culprit. Note that you need to reboot Chrome for the changes to take effects.

    Once identified you can report to the ZA official support at the link in my signature. Look for the "contact us" icon. No report, no chance of a fix.

    Hi Fax, Thanks for your feedback, I have tried your suggestions....
    1. Update Chrome to Version 34.0.1847.116 m and Run Chrome in incognito mode -> Same Keyboard issue!
    2. Run Firefox in SAFE MODE -> Same Keyboard issue!
    I tried this 2 times, rebooted in-between tests.
    MS Internet Explorer is still good in both test.
    FYI ….
    The keyboard issue produces this effect:
    Using the same key [I will use the S Key for this example],
    pressing it repeatedly gives the following output.
    Test 1 using Chrome: 7890-=qwertyuiop[]as
    Test 2 using Chrome:s1234567890-=qwerty
    Test 3 using Chrome: uiop[]asdfghjkl;'`\zxcvbnm,./-+\1234567890-=qwertyuiop[]as
    Test 4 using Firefox: \1234567890-=qwertyuiop[]as

    I do not have any other security software installed or running.
    I will keep the ANTI-KEY LOGGER off for now.

    as mentioned several times, the Only Solution is the following:

    OK if you turn on Anti-Keylogger and you have issues then the fix is turn Anti-Keylooger off.

    Sorry, There are no other options to configuring anti-keylogger as you can see from the interface in ZA just on and off.

    There is only one option for you. Don't use that browser with the anti-keylogger.

    If your having this issue we would like to collect some logs from you that are being gathered by development on the issue.

    Contact support and they will give you complete directions.

    Note: Sending logs does not mean you will get a fix or even a reply back. It just helps us improve ZA in later releases.

    Default Anti-Keylogger issue

    Hello,

    I am using Zonealarm Extreme Security 2015 and have an issue with the Anti-Keylogger. I already use another Key-Logger program and disabled ZA's version. Why is it then that the ZA Keylogger still loads into memory at Startup?? How in the world do I prevent the service from starting up if I have it turned off? I want that memory back.
