    Default ZA FAILS to properly run on Microsoft Surface Pro 2 running 8.1 i-5 3400U 512 8gig

    Tried to write this all out in detail twice now on this forum. Every time I post the final text, I get to sign in again.

    Bought four new Pro's and ZA failed on every one. No addressable pop up dialog boxes, no task icon to use either. Chat session revealed "no clue" about this popular new platform.

    Finally something posted.

    1. Purchased new 2 year license.

    2. Downloaded properly to all machines.

    3. Updated properly to all machines.

    4. NO dialogs box prompts to answer "allow/disallow" questions.

    5. No icon found within task bar.

    6. All apps could not be serviced, all locked up.

    incredible chat session I can post if requested. Clueless.

    Hello;

    I understand your frustration but we can't really address it here.

    I am afraid it can be specific to your PC setup as each PC is a world per se, . For example, some laptops normally load proprietary software that may conflict with software especially security tools. There could be hardware problems (wifi drivers or the specific tool you use to connect to internet if not using standard windows services).

    NOTE: You should contact ZA Technical Support as we are all users here. If you have already done so please provide more Feedback to them that what they suggested did not work.

    If you still have problems I am afraid you may need to find another security tool that works well with your setup and computer and claim for a refund, if applicable. (you have 30 days after Purchase to ask for a REFUND, in case you can not resolve the issue with your computers..)

    We can't really help here as we cannot collect logs and perform an in-depth troubleshooting.

    Thank you in advance for your understanding and support and good luck!.

    Here is the Only suggestion I have that has resolves Issues with Corrupted or Bad installs of Zone Alarm, that works for other users..

    =========================
    The instruction for a clean install are below

    1. Download the latest ZA 13 (2015) version http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...10&action=view
    <== click here

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Now Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings, and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.

    Let us know how you have managed to resolve the issue. It will help other users with the same problem.

    Running ZA on a SP2, same configuration and all fine here. Remember to set the taskbar on top of the screen in desktop mode (autohide) to see properly ZA pop-us.

    Thanks,
    Fax

    Thank you thank you thank you!

    I was experiencing the same issue as the topic creator for weeks (256GB model if it makes a difference), but your advice to move the taskbar to the top has saved me!

    I can see the ZA pop-ups now instead of just seeing the ZA logo at the bottom right corner of the screen. Sure beats trying to figure out what program went with what during or after the install... or dropping all defenses to update Firefox.
