    Unhappy ZA no longer asks me to allow or deny

    I'm actually surprised that I am the only one with this issue. I have searched many times for this and have not come up with an answer so I'm on the verge of thinking it's user error. Zone Alarm used to ask me weather or not to let a program access the internet. I have notices that it no longer asks me to allow or deny. I do not have the Microsoft utilized checked (unchecked when I read a related post form 2011). To test it I told it to block chrome which is what I am currently on typing this question. As you can see.. it's not blocked. As stated I have used ZA for a long time, I've never had it not ask me.

    Ensure you have the latest version of ZAfree

    - Go to Application Control and ensure it is set to MAX
    - Go to Smartedense and ensure it is set to MANUAL or OFF
    - Go to Program control and ensure that "Enable Microsoft Catalog Utilization" is UNchecked
    - Reboot the PC
    - Go to Program List and remove the entry(ies) in question.

    Try Now and see if you have the same problem?

    im not sure why this didn't post. I have made sure all the above is done, for some reason it is still not blocking it. I am running windows 7 64bit if that helps.

    four main causes of your problem:

    1. You have not followed closely all the steps above mentioned. This seems to be confirmed by the screenshot which only show two out of the four points to perform (e.g. move smartdefense to OFF);
    2. You are not removing from the ZA application control all components of the application connecting to internet;
    3. Your system does not allow ZA to work correctly.
    4. The ZA databases in which settings are stored are corrupted.

    BTW, this issue is already explained in several thread including a sticky thread at the top of this forum section. I wonder what exactly you searched not to find it.

    here --> [SOLVED] Zone alarm ignores deny list

    For point 1 I am afraid you need to really read all points carefully.
    For point 2 remove as many items in ZA application control list as you can
    For point 3, no suggesting then starting with a fresh system
    For point 4, reset ZA or fully remove and clean install the latest version (13.1).
