    Default ZA Extreme Security just quarantined its own help search???

    ZA ES appears to have quarantined its own Help Search Tab function with a HUER scan. Anybody else seen this before? Is this a false positive>

    Exact version of ZA used? From the screenshot is seems that information is related to the ZA free version 11.

    Right click the ZA icon near the clock --> about --> Copy to clipboard --> paste it here. Remove the license key, if applicable.

    The conflict between your Pasted info and your Screenshot brings up several more Questions?


    The More information you post more likely other users here will be able to help and suggest potential remedial actions.

    1.) Exact version of OS used? XP SP3? Windows 7 SP? Windows 8? 8.1? Localized Language version? English version?
    Other security Programs running on the desktop PC? Laptop? Netbook?


    2.) before installing ZA Extreme Security, did you have ZA Free + AV installed, and installed the ZA Extreme over the Existing ZA Free?

    3.) do you have any other 3rd party Security programs installed?

    1. XP SP3 English, Thinkpad T61
    2. Clean install of ZA ES
    3. No 3rd party.

    I haven't had any other issues with the program. I was trying to get help on a Junk mail issue. I didn't see what I needed in the index, so I clicked the "Search" tab. The heuristics scan kicked in and zapped the functionality of the search tab. I took the screen shot at that point.
    Thank for trying to figure this out.

    (My first attempt to get support was a live chat with ZA. Their fix was to reset all setting to default and reboot.... didn't work.)

    Both built in help guides in version 13 of ZA come up with a different manual.

    Yours seems to be stuck on version 11 and looks to be the issue.

    At one point and time you may have upgraded and the upgrade didn't go well.

    We have never seen this happen so we don't know what will fix this exactly.

    Only solution we can come up with is to first Uninstall ZA from the control panel and program and features. (make note of your license key)

    AFTER you have uninstalled.

    Now download this utility and Save to your desktop
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

    Run this utility. You will be prompted to reboot.

    After your PC has rebooted download Extreme security from this link and Save the file to your desktop.

    Run the Extreme installer and take all Default settings.

    Update ZA so that the most current Antivirus bases are downloaded and installed.

    Reboot your PC.

    After the PC reboots open the help guide from the tools drop down menu in ZA Extreme to see if the issue still exists.
