Default Zonealarm clean.exe altered my network settings

I have just uninstalled zonealarm extreme 12. and then used the clean.exe so that I could do a clean install. Before installing the latest product I have noticed that my wireless internet connection has been changed somehow. When I boot up it takes about 2 minutes for the network adaptor to come to life and connect to the internet. Usually this is instant and the only change I made was running the clean.exe tool.
1.) What could the clean.exe tool have done to the system?
2.) Do you know how I can my instant internet connection back, now it shows "limited connectivity" for about 2 mins and then connects by itself.
    Hope someone can help.

    Hello;

Welcome to the Zone Alarm User Forum..

The More information you post more likely other users here will be able to help and suggest potential remedial actions.

Right click the ZA icon near the clock --> About --> Copy to Clipboard --> Paste in a reply here. Mind to remove the license key (if applicable).

Did you install ZA as the Administrator? without touching any default settings, and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.

Exact version of OS used? XP SP3? Windows 7 SP? Windows 8? 8.1? Any Other security Programs running on the desktop PC? Laptop? Netbook?

Since when have you are experiencing the problem? Did ZA ever worked correctly?
AFAIK, clean.exe will ONLY remove ZA components.

Probably just a coincidence as clean.exe does not alter or remove other than ZA components.

Depending on the wifi setup (USB dongle?), you may need to reinstall it the drivers? Reset the connection using windows? Normally its recommended to use native windows software for the management of the wifi and not third party tools apart from the drivers of the hardware.

If you provide full details of your setup, as George suggested, we may be able to help. Not sure as it seems a system problem rather than ZA

    Thanks,

It does sound like a system problem but it only happened after running the clean tool.

I have just done a system restore and again the laptop was running great, after unistalling zonealarm again okay, but after running the clean tool after reboot slow wireless startup.

It is a dell xps13 with intel centrino advanced n6230 wireless card. Windows 7 SP 1 Currently there is no zonealarm installed I just wanted to know what the clean tool could do to my settings.

It may be related to the old conduit toolbar which was part of zonealarm, the clean tool removes this and backgroundcontuit.dll was a start up task which wont run correctly after the clean. I have removed this task from startup with autoruns but still did not fix the issue.

I have had zonealarm for years and always looked hear first for help.

    Thanks

Sorry no idea what is clean.exe is doing in detail. At this point I would remove ZA 12 via the standard WIN7 "uninstall an application", do not use clean.exe and then install the latest ZA version you find here:
    Looking for the latest version?

If you have a valid license, you can contact, free of charge, the ZA technical support at the link in my signature as we are all users here. Explain in detail the issue of clean.exe.

Not sure what support could suggest but if you find a way out please do not hesitate to post it here as it may help other users with the same problem.
