    Default ZA blocks downloads

    Hello,

    I use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security (presently version: 13.1.211.000) and I have the problem that it some times block downloads. One example is trying to download Payload 1 or 2 from http://community.eveonline.com/suppo...ine-installer/ where it simply stalls Untitled.jpg - the browser is just waiting for the download source to respond. I've had the same problem with various other downloads/programs (e.g. when the program EVE Online tries to update).

    The only solution I've found to get the download started is to completely shut down ZA and I really really don't like that "solution".

    I couldn't find a thread concerning this issue and I'm not even sure that it is actually a ZA configuration problem, but I hope you/someone can help me out here. This is enough of a problem that I'm considering changing to some other firewall... :-/

    No issue here whatsoever in downloading those files here. OS used? Possibly an issue with your browser. If you have not done yet do a full removal and clean install, this way:

    1. Download the latest ZA 13 (2015) version http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...10&action=view <== click here

    2. Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    3. Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4. Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5. Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    6. Now Install the latest ZA version without touching any default settings,
    and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.

    While we don't have an issue downloading this files.

    There is a bug in ZA with the EVE online game.

    ZA will block the application from running and updating properly when you run the program.

    This is a known issue and only workaround at this time is to exit ZA before running EVE online.


    Sorry we have no ETA when this will be fixed.

    I use 64 bit Windows 7 Pro and I've tried in both Chrome, IE 11 and Firefox and it hasn't worked in either browser. And regarding the clean install, it hasn't helped formatting the computer either.
    EVE is not the only download I've had problems with - I've had the same problem with a few other programs (my guess is that it's with download links that redirect to the actual file location, but I have nothing to back this up).
