    Default "your license has expired" on Zone Alarm Free v13

    Hello... been waiting for a reply to this problem because I have the same issue with the free version - ZoneAlarm Free Firewall version: 13.2.015.000.
    I have tried cleaning and administrator installs but always get "your license has expired" message as soon as I install. Nothing I do seems to help and installing previous versions delivers the same result.
    Grateful for any advice or assistance.

    Hi;

    Note: I have Moved your Post into it's own Thread because your issue is Different than the Original poster..

    I am very sorry you are having problems with ZA and hopefully I will be able to find a solution for you.

    There are several things that can cause this issue..

    1. Not being logged in as Administrator when Installing or Uninstalling..

    2. Corrupt Download and or install of ZA..

    3. if your Computer Date/Time has changed or not correct setting can cause License Expired Error.

    However, the FREE ZA versions does not have a License?
    This usually means that at one time you installed a trial Paid version of ZA and did not properly Uninstall it?

    4. other 3rd party Security programs can conflict with ZA or Block ZA from installing properly..

    Try this safe clean up procedure in Administrator Login mode:

    The instruction for a clean install are below

    1.) Download ZA 13.1.211.000 (2015) version http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...10&action=view
    <== click here

    2.) Remove your current ZA version (in XP use Windows add/remove programs/Windows 7/8 Uninstall a program)

    3.) Remove other security tools installed. Use http://www.appremover.com/ to double check no left overs are present.

    4.) Clean your system and registry with the Free Ccleaner.exe
    free ccleaner <= click here

    5.) Download to your desktop and run the ZA removal tool, http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe <= click here
    now reboot computer after running ZA Removal tool.

    6.) Now Install the latest ZA version Without Touching any Default settings,
    and Do Not Restore Saved Settings from the old install.
    NOTE: Let us know how you have managed to resolve the issue. It will help other users with the same problem.

    Regards;

    Hi, thank you for your rapid reply, I have been through the steps of the recommended process, but still get the same message at the end.

    I ran everything as administrator and tried loading ZA with AVG uninstalled also. Still get the same message "your license has expired"

    Hoping there is something else I can try... cheers

    The only reason for receiving that message is that your ZA still reads an old configuration. i.e. your OS does not allow the files to be removed or you have not followed correctly the instruction given. Go manually on the PC and remove everything that reads "checkpoint" or "zonealarm".

    Another test you can do is to create a new user in the system (with admin permissions) and install ZA from there. You will not get the expire message.

    Thanks,
    Fax

    Thank you for your advice. I have been through and manually removed all traces of ZA in safe mode, deleted from the registry, cleaned and reinstalled ZA with no other 3rd party security software. Still though I get the same result.
    I agree that there must be a file from an earlier installation that is preventing a clean install, but I cant find it or get rid of it.
    I have 5 other PC's running ZA with no problems and I am not going to set up another user on a PC that only I use.
    Grateful to receive any further advice or assistance with resolving this matter.... cheers
